<p>The conference <strong>TOSQUELLES transversal</strong> updates the manifold genealogies and surrounds of the Catalan-French psychiatrist François Tosquelles (1912-1994). Starting from the transversal practice at the Saint-Alban hospital, which inspired Oury, Guattari, Fanon, Michaud, Deligny, and many others, the lectures deal with the history and current relevance of anti-fascist social assemblages, from institutional analysis to artistic research to political philosophy. Transversality refers not only to institutional practice in the Lozère, Blida, La Borde, and Monoblet, and to the overarching social movements around 1968, but also to the discursive and activist efforts of the eipcp's current publication platform: transversal.at.</p>
<p><strong>TOSQUELLES transversal</strong> will be held in Vienna on 3/4 October 2025, conference language: German.</p>
<p>The conference is a follow-up to QUEER TOSQUELLES, which took place at KHM / Academy of Media Arts Cologne in June 2024 (<a href="https://www.khm.de/queertosquelles/)">https://www.khm.de/queertosquelles/)</a>. <p>Internationale Konferenz des eipcp in Kooperation mit der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien und der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln</p>
<p>Die Konferenz aktualisiert die mannigfaltigen Genealogien und Umgebungen des katalanisch-französischen Psychiaters François Tosquelles (1912-1994). Ausgehend von der transversalen Praxis in der Klinik von Saint-Alban, die Oury, Guattari, Fanon, Michaud, Deligny und viele andere inspirierte, befassen sich die Vorträge mit der Geschichte und Aktualität antifaschistischer sozialer Gefüge, von der institutionellen Analyse über die künstlerische Forschung bis zur politischen Philosophie. Transversalität bezieht sich dabei nicht nur auf die institutionelle Praxis in der Lozère, in Blida, La Borde und Monoblet, und auf die übergreifenden sozialen Bewegungen um 1968, sondern auch auf die diskursiven und aktivistischen Einsätze der heutigen Publikationsplattform des eipcp: transversal.at.</p>
