es gibt 192 offiziell registrierte länder in der welt. claudia valdes arbeit 192:291 ist aus 192 wiederholungen eines films zusammengesetzt, die quadratförmig im halbsekundentakt gleichzeitig auf dem bildschirm erscheinen: der ersten je im fernsehen gezeigte aufnahme eines atombombentests vom 17. märz 1953.

ein roboter als einziger akteur einer tanzinszenierung und ein raum, der in bewegung gerät
der zweieinhalb meter hohe aluminiumroboter kubic hängt in einem dunklen raum von der decke. entwickelt vom kanadischen robotik-spezialist louis-philippe demers, bewegt sich kubic entsprechend der konstruktion seiner glieder zu den klängen der sound-installation von francisco lópez. pablo ventura entwickelte eine choreografie, in der festgelegte positionen und zufällige interaktive bewegungsmuster die illusion erzeugen, der roboter sei lebendig.

die groß angelegte klanginstallation 'off the wall' basiert auf einer abwandlung der im jahr 1877 von thomas alva edison erfundenen technologie zur tonaufnahme und tonwiedergabe. sie ist teil des interdisziplinären medienkunstprojekts 'phonethica' und bietet eine taktik zur erkundung der welt mithilfe der phonetik.

|__ renate beckmann: marlenes kleider. aus dem nachlass einer leinwandlegende
im oktober 1993 trafen über 100 schachteln und schrankkoffer aus dem nachlass von marlene dietrich im berliner filmmuseum ein. ein feature als akustische modenschau: schwanenkostüm, pailletten-, marokko-kleid, sowie unzählige weitere kleidungsstücke und accessoires erzählen von filmen und dem leben der dietrich.

pablo ventura lässt den den zweieinhalb meter großen roboter kubic live tanzen. auch francisco lópez steuert sein environment in den performances selbst. er schafft differenzierte maschinistische atmosphären, die den betrachter einladen, kubic's cube aus unterschiedlichen perspektiven zu entdecken. es ensteht eine kubistische bewegungskulptur, deren mittelpunkt kubic ein instrument der rhythmischen bewegung ist.

a robot as the only actor in a dance piece, and a space that begins to move
the two-and-a-half meter high aluminium robot kubic hangs from the ceiling in a dark room. kubic, developed by the canadian robot-specialist louis-philippe demers, moves to the sound of francisco lópez's sound installation. pablo ventura has developed a choreography in which defined positions and coincidental interactive movement patterns produce the illusion that the robot is alive.

pablo ventura makes the two-and-a-half metre robot dance, live. francisco lópez also operates his environment during the performances. he creates differentiated mechanistic atmospheres that invite the viewer to discover 'kubic's cube' from different perspectives. the outcome is a cubist kinetic sculpture with kubic, an instrument of rhythmic movement, at the centre.
