prospect park: spiel mir das lied vom tod

"spiel mir das lied vom tod" ist ein computerspiel, das mit der realität rückgekoppelt wird. das ziel des abknallens wird zum fall fürs feingefühl. prospect park (hannah groninger, jo schramm, florian zwißler) untersuchen das kontroverse thema und konfrontieren die konzepte "musik spielen" und "schauspielen" mit "computer spielen". auf der basis des ego shooter-klassikers "half life 2" haben sie "spiel mir das lied vom tod" entworfen, welches die spielkonsolen zu instrumenten im musikalischen, ästhetischen und narrativen sinne macht. ohne auf virtuelle gewalthandlungen zu verzichten, wird das pure ziel, den anderen abzuschießen, zum musiktheater transformiert. die virtuelle spielebene ist dabei mit dem realen raum des spiels kurzgeschlossen. die spieler verfügen über praktische erfahrung in der ausübung realer gewalt. als gewalttäter konstruieren sie sich auf der virtuellen spielebene identitäten, die das lied vom tod beherrschen.

in großen städten sucht ulrich fischer signifikante orte, an die er ortsansässige musiker einlädt, eine passage zu komponieren. in zwei  t e s l a -residenz-aufenthalten hat ulrich fischer in diesem jahr an dem projekt gearbeitet. folgende berlin-takes präsentiert er nun im studio 2:

in einer live-performance und einem gespräch stellt derek holzer den entwicklungsstand seines aktuellen projektes vor. tonewheels ist ein experiment, bei dem bilder in klang übersetzt werden. als inspiration dafür dienten einige der bahnbrechenden erfindungen in der elektronischen musik.

"resonances" geht davon aus, das ein für unbestimmte zeit mit klängen bespielter raum diese auch nach ihrem verklingen noch hält. diese präsenz ist sowohl kollektives wie auch individuelles gedächtnis.
dorsey dunn zeigt die performance/installation "resonances" sowie elemente weiterer aktueller projekte.

prospect park: spiel mir das lied vom tod

"spiel mir das lied vom tod" ("play me the song of death") is a computer game that doubles back on reality. gunning down the enemy becomes a case of utmost sensitivity.
prospect park (hannah groninger, jo schramm, florian zwißler) explore this controversial subject and confront the concepts of "playing music" and "playing theater" with "playing computer games". they use the ego-shooter classic "half life 2" as a basis for "spiel mir das lied vom tod", which turns game consoles into musical, aesthetic, and narrative instruments. without removing the virtual violence from the plot, they transform the pure goal of shooting the opponent into musical theater. the virtual playing level is connected to the actual space of the game. players gain the practical experience of committing real violence. as aggressors, they construct virtual identities, which control the song of death.
