Hello to everybody,
Since we arrived here in Nepal, a lot of water has flowed through the
Rapti River. Ganesha'sProject started off in November 2001, and moved
a large step forward during the last 6 months.
Even though...
... we had to deal with virtually all imaginable difficulties that
could crop up in an undeveloped country with practically no
infrastructure, corruption, civil war, natural catastrophes and a
very
complex structured society, we still kept Ganesha's Project going.
... we lost the communication link to the rest of the world also due
to a maoist attack on the Bachhauli telephone-tower in March, and our
work was constantly hindered due to strikes, curfews, power-cuts,
etc.
in Nepal we were not forgotten. Locals, politicians, teachers,
writers
and interested persons all over Nepal very well understand,
appreciate
and support the work that is being done by this project. We got a lot
of attention from the Press and Media and Ganesha's Project is
already
considered to be a model development Project of the developing
infrastructure politics of Nepal (Sabitri Bogati, Nepal minister of
Physical Planning and Works).
... our jobs as teachers, carpenters, electricians, managers, network
administrators, social workers and much
more took us a lot of time and much energy was spent to learn more
and develop ourselves, we still managed to collect a large quantity
of
material about all the happenings here that soon will be published on
this website.
What we would like to say...
We are still working hard on the new website:
http://www.ganeshas-project.org and hope to be ready and updated on
the 13th of May 2002.
Anyway we apologise for not being able to inform relatives, close
friends, observers and the rest of the world simultaneously with the
happenings here... It was impossible.
The Project is still alive. All Members of the Project are convinced,
now even more than before, that with a small budget and a lot of
troubles, Ganesha's Project is doing a really good job for the
upliftment of the Nepalese disadvantaged society and not at last
giving its unarmed contributions to very needed peace in a civil war
disturbed country.
Till next time, many thanks!!
Ganesha's Project Team in Nepal
Please keep yourself informed....
