Dear list members,

there will be an opportunity to meet up at the CCC's Summer Camp to
discuss the ongoing copyright law reform. I realize, It's a bit of a
short notice, still, all of you who will be able to make it to the
vicinity of Berlin are warmely welcome to participate in the
following meeting. And the camp and conference, of course, will be
worth it in its own right.

best
Volker

The first round of digitization of the German copyright law according
to the EU Copyright Directive has been concluded in early July. The
next one will start right away. Time to look at the balance sheet and
think together how to take it from here.

- Summing up
Who were the main actors so far? What actions have been taken? Which
proved effective?

- Issues (the Message)
What are our main critical issues and demands for the second round of
copyright lawmaking?
	- enforcement of the digital private copy
	- preventing the abolishment of lump-sum levies
	- strengthening of exceptions for eduction and libraries
	- ...

- Forms of Activism (the Media)
Determining target audiences, and the channels and stages through
which to reach them. (The search for the "seal babies" of the info
sphere).
	- Grassroots (demo, boycott, mass actions)
	- Agit Prop (symbolic actions targetting the press)
	- Juridical (test case, financial support for people being sued)
	- Lobbying parliamentarians
	- ...
