Hi Robert,
good to hear from you. Yes, Atul is right. Conference language is
English. There are 180 people on this list, and you are certainly not
the only non-German speaker. There are many German speakers as well,
so I don't think we can enforce an all-English policy on the list.
Please bear with German posts and let that not discourage you from
posting in English.
An application deadline for funding is coming up at the end of July.
So we are currently collecting ideas for writing up a first draft for
wos4. It will likely be a patchwork of issues again. There will some
continuation from last time. What I find important is to identify
trends that have changed or newly emerged since wos3. What are / will
be in 2006 the hot topics in free software, PETs, archives etc.? And
then two specials are emerging: theater (and IP, formats between
conference and theater etc.) because the venue and partner of wos4
will be a theater, and Brazil (which might be difficult to plan
because of the presidential elections in 2006).
So yes, please let's hear your ideas.
best
Volker
