Hi,
Free software, CC licenses and related stuff are now mainstream enough -
there is no shortage of information about them out there, and certainly no
shortage of publicity and coverage in the media.
I think we should move beyond the concept of repetitive advocacy that we
are in the danger of getting trapped in, and get more practical.
The danger of advocacy (or awareness drives) is that if you overdo it,
people tend to ignore you after a while. One needs to give them something
new and solid to sink their teeth in.
I'd suggest something on the lines of "Rules of Engagement", indicating
that we are trying to get across to people *how* they can use FOSS/CC
licensed material - what are the legalities, the gotchas - what is
expected of others, what can be expected of us, how one can get from point
A to point B, using FOSS and CC. Support with barrels full of case
histories.
Not "can do", but "are doing". :)
Am I making sense? Or is more coffee in order? :)
