Dear Friends,

I am writing to tell you that we've just released STEAL THIS FILM II
over at www.stealthisfilm.com. We've got Pirate Bay, Mininova and
Bittorrent Inc. themselves seeding the torrent so you shouldn't have
any problems grabbing a copy. Hope you enjoy it and sorry if I, or
someone else, has already told you :)

ABOUT THE FILM

These are strange times indeed. While they continue to command so
much attention in the mainstream media, the 'battles' between old and
new modes of distribution, between the pirate and the institution of
copyright, seem to many of us already lost and won. We know who the
victors are. Why then say any more?

Because waves of repression continue to come: lawsuits are still
levied against innocent people; arrests are still made on flimsy
pretexts, in order to terrify and confuse; harsh laws are still
enacted against filesharing, taking their place in the gradual
erosion of our privacy and the bolstering of the surveillance state.
All of this is intended to destroy or delay inexorable changes in
what it means to create and exchange our creations. If STEAL THIS
FILM II proves at all useful in bringing new people into the leagues
of those now prepared to think 'after intellectual property', think
creatively about the future of distribution, production and
creativity, we have achieved our main goal.

It has been an exciting and demanding year for us and we really hope
you'll enjoy the work we've done. It would not have been possible
without the the thousands of donations you have given us. We have a
plan for the future and if you would like to continue to support us,
go here. Thank you.

HELP US!

We could use your help with promoting the film on various sites if
you can spare 5 minutes. This can really make a difference out
getting the film out there.

*On Digg*
http://digg.com/all/entertainment/upcoming/most

We're already at the top of Upcoming, but we need over 100 Diggs to
get on the front page. You need to be registered to Digg, but that
takes about 1.5 minutes:
http://digg.com/register/

*On Reddit*
http://reddit.com/info/6430a/comments/

Reddit didn't take any notice of us for about a week last time. You
need to be registered to vote on Reddit, but it's virtually instant:
http://reddit.com/login

*On BoingBoing*
We would also be delighted if BoingBoing were to review the film, so
it can't hurt if you recommend us to them:
http://www.boingboing.net/suggest.html

You don't need to be registered to submit links to BoingBoing.

Thanks so much for any help, and here's wishing you a happy new year!

Cheers.

Jamie
