FYI:

This week and next week, the Black International Cinema festival will
take place in Berlin, for the
nineteenth time. The programme includes documentary and feature films and
experimental shorts, mostly
(but not exclusively) focusing on productions from the African diaspora,
as well as seminars,
exhibitions and multidisciplinary events. By ways of leitmotiv the
festival will look back on the
1884-85 Berlin Conference, when representatives of 14 countries travelled
to Bismarck's Germany to
decide on the fate of Africa, carving up the continent into "spheres of
influence".
