ABOUT THE ARTIST

London's Muzik magazine has called ALAN D. OLDHAM "Detroit Techno's
Renaissance Man," having made his name throughout the '90s as the
owner of the Generator, Pure Sonik, and xfive labels, international
techno DJ (under the stage name DJ T-1000), and electronic musician.

During that time, however, Oldham was also an accomplished
illustrator, responsible for the graphic direction of the
Netherlands-based Djax-Up-Beats record label, as well as logos, label
art and album covers for such electronic music labels as Transmat,
KMS, Plus 8, Astralwerks, !K7, New Religion, and many others.

In 2005, inspired by his art heroes Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy
Warhol, and Patrick Nagel, the autodidact began producing
large-scale, Pop Art-inspired gallery works to great response. He
decided that idealized, hyper-stylized superwomen would be his main
subjects. "Females are just more interesting to paint," Oldham says.
"I've been blessed to have been surrounded by strong, sexy women in
my life and career. Capturing their energy on canvas is a challenge."

The Chicago-and-Berlin-based Oldham calls his latest show of
paintings and drawings "Blaster" because of the comic-book inspired
color and energy of this series of works. "Blaster" is also the name
of his latest DJ T-1000 EP on Tresor, his longtime musical home.

Oldham, recently featured in the electronic music DVD magazine
SLICES, has shown his paintings at the Open Door Gallery in Chicago,
Le Fromager restaurant/gallery in Paris, the Crewest Gallery in Los
Angeles, and most recently at the No Friction Cafe in Chicago.

"Blaster" is his Berlin gallery debut.
