A photographic summer week in Berlin. This course is a Level 1
introduction in digital photography. It will centre on camera
techniques, and image making with the still camera. The city of
Berlin and the lights of the summer will be the backdrop of this
project, and for your own photographic project. You will learn to
better understand, and handle the controls of your camera, identify
different situations for lighting and use all of them in creative
ways. You will develop your own project, and you will finally
complete a meaningful series of images, ready for desktop or online
presentation.

Berlin in summer gives endless possibilities to the capturing eye of
the photographer, with the historical layers, the architecture, the
diversity of cultures, the nightlife, and not the least, the long
hours of daylight. Critical discussion and the mutual reading of
images of both your projects and of some important photographers will
be a vital part of the course. It will be significant in order to
learn from each other, to better understand composition and meaning
of images and, to discover your own interest and creativity in
photography.

There is an additional charge of ca. ¤ 10 for materials (texts, CD,
ink and paper) to be paid directly to the instructor.
