The Search For Hospitable Spaces in Art and Science.  <= 

Within an interdisciplinary area of art, gender and technology, new    
                                                           
bio-technologies enjoy high popularity. Aesthetic and scientific
relation                                                               
between gender and new reproductive technologies has been explored by  
                                                      
feminist scholarship through critique of desire for self-generation /  
                                                                   
parthenogenesis in philosophy, art, architecture and science. Without  
                                                       
denying the importance of the concept of control, this lecture will
offer                                                          
aesthetic and conceptual feminist analysis of specific artistic and    
                                                                
scientific examples of artificial wombs and male pregnancy as a search
for                                                      
welcoming spaces to host a fetus by man and / or machine.
