AUSSCHREIBUNG
Zu seiner 27. Ausgabe präsentiert das Kasseler 
Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest vom 9. bis 14. 
November 2010 die Vielfalt und aktuellen 
Tendenzen des dokumentarischen Schaffens in all 
seinen Variationen. An sechs Festivaltagen kommen 
ca. 230 internationale Dokumentarfilme sowie 
experimentelle und künstlerische Arbeiten zur 
Aufführung. Ergänzt wird das vielfältige 
Filmprogramm durch drei medienübergreifende 
Sektionen: die Medienkunstausstellung Monitoring, 
audiovisuelle Performances und VJ-Kunst in der 
DokfestLounge sowie die Fachtagung interfiction. 
In der Zusammenschau ergeben diese das in der 
Festivallandschaft einzigartige Profil des Kasseler Dokfestes.

Wir laden ab sofort alle Filmemacher/innen, 
Künstler/innen, Verleiher/innen, Produzent/innen, 
Galerist/innen, Hochschulen und Institutionen 
ein, sich mit aktuellen Arbeiten und Projekten 
für die einzelnen Sektionen des 27. Kasseler 
Dokumentarfilm- und Videofestes zu bewerben. 
Einsendeschluss ist der 19. Juli 2010.

Alle Einreicher/innen bekommen im November einen 
Festivalkatalog kostenfrei zugesandt. Darüber 
hinaus laden wir die im Programm vertretenen 
Filmemacher/innen und Künstler/innnen nach 
Möglichkeit zur Diskussion ihrer Arbeiten nach Kassel ein.

PREISE
Eine Auswahl der im Festivalprogramm 
präsentierten Arbeiten wird für einen der vier Preise nominiert:
Das Bemühen des Festivals um den filmischen 
Nachwuchs findet in dem durch die Stadt Kassel 
geförderten „Goldenen Schlüssel“ für die beste 
dokumentarische Nachwuchsarbeit seinen Ausdruck. 
Das Preisgeld beträgt 5.000 €.
Der mit 2.500 € dotierte „Goldene Herkules“ für 
eine herausragende nordhessische Produktion wird 
von der Machbar GmbH, Agentur für 
Unternehmenskommunikation mit Hauptsitz in Kassel, vergeben.
Die beste Installation der Ausstellung Monitoring 
wird mit dem „Golden Cube“ und 2.500 €, gestiftet 
von dem Softwareunternehmen Micromata GmbH, ausgezeichnet.
Das Festival vergibt zudem gemeinsam mit 
Werkleitz – Zentrum für Medienkunst das 
Produktions-Stipendium „A38“. Das Stipendium ist 
dank des Engagements der Hessischen Landesanstalt 
für privaten Rundfunk und neue Medien (LPR 
Hessen) und der Medienanstalt Sachsen-Anhalt 
(MSA) mit bis zu 3.000 € Unterhalts- sowie max. 
1.000 € Reisekosten ausgestattet. Darüber hinaus 
stehen Sachleistungen im Wert von bis zu 4.000 € zur Verfügung.

CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival 
announces its 27th edition! From November 9 to 
14, 2010 the festival shows the diversity and 
current tendencies of documentary work by 
presenting about 230 international documentary 
films as well as experimental and artistic works. 
The manifold film program is complemented by 
three intermedia sections: the media art 
exhibition Monitoring, audiovisual performances 
and VJ-art in the DokfestLounge as well as the 
workshop symposium interfiction. Together, they 
create the Dokfest’s unique profile within the festival landscape.

We now invite all filmmakers, artists, 
distributors, producers, gallery owners, 
universities or institutions to submit latest 
works and projects to the different sections of 
the festival. Deadline for entries is July 19, 2010.

All submitters will receive a free festival 
catalog in November. As far as possible, we will 
invite all participating authors and artists to 
come to Kassel during the festival and to join us for discussion.

AWARDS
A selection of the presented films and videos as 
well as installations will be nominated for one of the four awards:
The “Golden Key” awards the best documentary 
submitted by a young director. It is endowed with 
5,000 € and supported by the City of Kassel.
The “Golden Hercules”, worth 2,500 €, awards an 
outstanding production from the region of 
Northern Hesse. It’s sponsored by the Machbar 
GmbH, a corporate communications company headquartered in Kassel.
The software company Micromata GmbH continuously 
supports the “Golden Cube” with 2,500 € in prize 
money. It awards the best installation of the exhibition Monitoring.
Moreover, both the festival and the Werkleitz – 
Centre for Media Art present the Production Grant 
“A38”. Thanks to the kind support of the LPR 
Hessen and the Medienanstalt Sachsen-Anhalt the 
grant includes up to 4,000 € for living and 
traveling expenses and up to additional 4,000 € for allowance in kind.
