The 7th edition of the ONE WORLD BERLIN Film Festival for Human Rights and Media takes place this year from November 25 to December 1, 2010 in Berlin.

ONE WORLD BERLIN is the partner festival of the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, which celebrated its 12th year in May, 2010 in Prag. ONE WORLD BERLIN is organized by EYZ Media in cooperation with numerous human rights organizations and initiatives. The festival will be held at the Arsenal Cinema in Berlin with a total of 14 film programs. All screenings will be followed by discussions with filmmakers and topics experts. 




The festival will feature two German premieres: SOUTH OF THE BORDER by Oliver Stone, the director's intimate portrait of Hugo Chávez, Raul Castro and other Latin American heads of state. TERE BIN LADEN by Abhishek Sharma, a Bollywood comedy of errors featuring a fictitious Al-Kaida video message and a Bin-Laden double. Confirmed Berlin premieres include Sebastian Junger's and Tim Hetherington's award winning Afghanistan reportage RESTREPO; and VIDEOCRACY, a documentary satire by Erik Gandini (GITMO) about Silvio Berlusconi's television republic. The complete festival program will be released by October 20, 2010. 




A ONE WORLD BERLIN first! In cooperation with the video platform www.realeyz.tv a selection of current festival films and post-film discussions will be available as streams on the festival website: www.oneworld-berlin.de 

Cooperation partners for this year's festival include the German Institute for Human Rights; the Humanist Union; the Center for Research and Documentation Chile-Latin America; American Voices Abroad Berlin; the Tschechische Zentrum Berlin and many others.


In collaboration with the German Institute for Human Rights and VisionKino and as a part of the SchulKinoWochen Berlin, there will be a special film program for youth shown at the Arsenal Cinema in Berlin from November 22- 24, 2010. Markus Löning, theGerman Federal Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Foreign Aid is the honorary patron of the film program for schools.
