VIDEOTAGE NEWS DECEMBER 2001 - JANUARY 2002

!! CALL FOR PROPOSALS !!
Videotage will host a five-person study trip to the Gwangju Biennale 2002,
in Gwangju, Korea! Includes flight, accomodation, and opportunity to
present at the Gwangju Biennale 2002. Dates: 24 - 29 March, 2001 (subject
to change).

Open call for proposals to present at the Gwangju Biennale 2002.
Presentations are open to artists working with new media -- single channel
video to internet art to vj performances....
Please send CV, written proposal of presentation, and examples of work. 
Deadline: 31 January 2002.

1. Videotage hosts a school teachers' tour of the Cattle Depot Artist
Village, with a special topic on new media art lead by its ART LEADERSHIP
participants this coming Saturday, 15 December 2001, from 2:00 - 3:30pm.  

2. Videotage's next video cafe features "L'Empire Des Significants" Video
works from Videoart Center Tokyo, Thursday, 17 January 2002, from 7:30-8:30pm.

3. Videotage hosts "Video-logue," a 6 session fringe event of the Hong Kong
Biennale 2001.  "Videologue" hosts 6 video dialogues, lectures, and
screenings on the work of Hong Kong Biennale artist Ellen Pau.

-Session 2: Producing Video - The first video camera and the technical
exercise, 16 January 2001
-Session 3: Playing Video - The time and space in video, 23 January 2001
-Session 4: Teaching Video - The aesthetics of the mundane, 30 January 2001
-Session 5: Curating Video Program - Crossing the border from cinema to the
museum, 6 February 2001
-Session 6: The Future of Video Art in Hong Kong/in China - The
techno-cultural and political conditioning, 21 February 2002

4. The Hong Kong Biennale 2002 and "Magic at Street Level" China - Hong
Kong Exhibition at the 49th International Exhibition of Art, Venice
Biennale opens at the Hong Kong Museum of Art this Friday, December 15,
2002. Video installations by Ellen Pau and Ho Siu kee and new media work by
Hung Keung will be exhibited.

5. "Space Traffic: symposium on independent art space" Slide, video and
