6th element

The conceptual borders of the project are marked by somewhat =
mythologized=20
assertion, that has been empirically tested countless times, about the =
presence=20
of the 6th element or power. Being compared to the five senses of =
perception it=20
is most often associated with an intuition, incomprehensible ability to =

conceive interrelation of things and is usually attested to women. The=20
project =93The 6th Element=94 is an attempt to materialize the sixth =
sense, to mark=20
the women=92s self-sufficient space, avoiding at the same time the =
feministic=20
discourse, reproachfully aggressive intonation and iconography of =
images=20
manifesting the feminism. It is an attempt to simply attest to its =
power and=20
self-sufficient capacity that allows calmly and easily, or boldly and =
defiantly=20
to settle anything. This is not a call to bring forth the painful =
aspects of=20
the feminine being and to search for answers to eternal and =
unanswerable=20
questions. Rather it might be a provocation of a person to whom =
everything is=20
long since clear and who can affirm that in reality everything is much =
more=20
simple.

A venue of the eventual project might be in one of hotels in Riga, =
Latvia,=20
where each artist would have a separate room. Artists might involve in =
their=20
projects also actresses, fashion designers, circur artists, etc. The =
project=20
would last for a week or two in April, 2002.

Please send proposals and budgets before December 23, 2001.
