nyc. no phone to my relatives in lower manhattan from germany possible.
web news urls jammed sporadically. still email is getting through.

at least 500 islamic websites hosted by texas-based infocom were taken
down by the fbi's anti-terror force 07.09 . [source:
reader-list@sarai.net]

news agency www.al-jazirah.com/newsj.html - crashed my machine after
severe blinking.

the faceless face...

these are the stories that set the character of the people we try to
entertain and enlighten with our stories.

these are the people and what they do in crisis, that determine the
character of our humanity.

what could you do when they enlighten you, when they teach you, what it is
to be alive?

the firemen, holding hands to cover all ground, walked through the black
smoke, when one found a person they dropped back and several others took
their space and continued... they never came back... thousands...

the policeman who came out of the black smoke and directed confused people
to an underground subway station for protection. He saved them, then
dissappeared into the falling rubble of tower 2...

the clerk, a little guy from data entry, who ran back and forth pulling
those from the debris, finally when relieved by the police, fell over from
exhaustion, hes a bigger man than most...

The woman, with a small office accross the street, opened her door and
became greater than any nurse in history, nameless, faceless, covered with
blood she gave life...

those who ran back. those who saw. those who were there. what can you say
to such knowledge? knowledge that is greater than god. greater than
politics.

you think you know poverty? you know hardship? this is a world thing, its
in the USA as well as Somalia. the US has a bigger `media blanket', thats
all. drive this country. see the poverty. you think you're alone. some
think the USA is something and its not.

I was in Spain and a kid told me he wished he was poor in the US, I told him
I wished I was poor in Spain...

you know nothing. humanity will prevail. this will only bring us closer to
a united world, without divisions.

I am hungry, I can't pay my rent. I'll be on the street. I'll live.

I am a christian a muslim a hindu and a jew. and so are all of you. when
you bring fear into the hearts of your sisters and brothers, shame on you,
shame on you.

down with countries. down with religion. down with what divides you. you
think this is a dream?

imagine.
