<blink> is a multi faceted music and interactive arts event, offering a
taste of current trends in VJ culture and the rapidly developing
relationship between art and technology. A exciting range of DJ¹s from the
North West have also been invited to drive <blink> into the early hours of
the morning playing funky house, breaks, drum n bass and techno.

Background on the feature acts:

Socket are a Bristol-based media collective who work with generative &
interactive systems to create video-sonic experiments that span performance,
installation & the web. I Am The Mighty Jungulator is both the software and
the live component of socket. Jungulator is an audio-visual engine that
fuses DJ and VJ tools into a real-time interface, along with algorithms that
allow the software to take creative decisions itself. Samples of their
down-tempo drum n bass and eclectic sounds can be heard on the website:
http://socketlab.net

thePooch.com: a technocratic interactive performance arts group who refuse
to recognise the boundaries between art and science. Pooch has come together
through a shared interest in the boundaries that exist between art and
technology with the intention of exploring the interplay between technology,
art and the environment via non-traditional user interfaces. Their
background in interactive interface technology design has put them in an
ideal position to develop some interactive, experiential pieces, which have
the objective of providing pure experience to the users.

The Arch Project: Born in Russia, but currently living in Japan, Vokoi
Kazunovski is the founding member of the Arch Project. After working as an
architect, he began his career in music through an interest in computer
programming, Max, MSP, Nato, Jitter and SC. He collaborates with a range of
performers, such as Richard Divine, POLE, KID606, and discom. He was also
the initiator of the Japanese techno/ electronica festival "METAMORPHOSE.²
At <blink>, Vokoi will be working with artist, Anagma. The performance is an
exploration of real-time synchronization of image to sound:
