Restless, tragi-comic beings interact with turbulent environments and
uncertain destinations in this programme of short film and video. With
references to popular culture, myth, nature and geopolitics, the lineup
reflects an interest in the possibility of 'landscape film', and its
relationship with post-human concepts and concerns. International in scope,
the works typify some contemporary methods in experimental film and video
practice: filmic constructs, animation, found-footage remix, digital
processing, and painterly approaches to framing and materials.

This edition of Purescreen was selected in response to 'The Goose Fair'
exhibition by Jacob Cartwright and Nick Jordan at Castlefield Gallery, 9
April to 16 May.
