The festival

Doku fest – overall is percept by its organizers an experience that
tries to bring together for few days, artists and art lovers of
documentary and short film in a specific space.

Its goals are creation of a sound context where different persons can
reflect its hopes, fears, dreams, visions, phantasy and their
perspectives that are based on general values of respecting human
diversity. The organizers interpret diversity as an advantage for
Kosova and in general for human kind.

During the festival various forums are organized where topics of
discussions are films (documentary and short films) as well as
various social topics.

Festival aims to get together people from Kosova, region and other
countries and to use this diversity in order to exchange various
thoughts, films and experiences believing on some universalism of
some human experiences.

Prizren

Within the history of Kosova and the region, Prizren town- generally
regarded as a crossroad of trade and industry, at the same time
established itself as a synonym of culture and tolerance. Prizren is
appreciated as a bastion of culture for all communities, where
Albanian, Turkish, Serbian and Bosniac languages are freely spoken on
the streets. Prizren citizens accept cultural divergences very well
and are very open to new initiatives. This background of the historic
and present context makes Prizren as an ideal town for organization
of an international festival, which would implicitly and explicitly
encourage development of the tolerance and further establishment of
the peace in Kosova and the region.
