is very proud to present

[R][R][F]2004 --->XP
[Remembering-Repressing-Forgetting]
www.newmediafest.org/rrf2004/ <http://www.newmediafest.org/rrf2004/>
global networking project by Agricola de Cologne
media artist and New Media curator from Cologne/Germany

as a part of Biennale of Electronic Art in Perth/Australia
www.beap.org <http://www.beap.org>
7 September -17 November 2004.

[R][R][F]2004 --->XP
is an experimental online environment,
set up for an exchange between virtual and physical space,
which represents simultaneously an extensive art project by itself,
and a research and curatorial environment in different ways.

The project started in March 2004 and developed since then
in a not expected way (see also list of physical venues below).
It will run and develop through 2006.

The project demonstrates the dynamic of net based art and a net based art environment,
and by focussing on deeply human related aspects as "Memory and Identity"
as a main theme, it is able to reach all people independantly from their
religious, social, ethnic, cultural or political background.
One of the message of the project is "We are one world" and we cannot be divided,
even if insane politicians errect again and again walls
in order to separate and discriminate people.

Eight "Memory Channels", i.e. RRF Channel (which represents the basic part)
Identity Channel, Violence Channel, VideoChannel (collecting collective memory in non-interactive works),
Program Channel and SoundLab Channel (collecting collective memory in non-visual art works)
include a broad bandwidth of thematical aspects,
manifested in a variety of art projects by external artists who work net based.

By developing extensive networking structures, by including artists, curators, institutions
and organisation from more than 50 countries on the globe,
[R][R][F]2004 --->XP is offering a unique collection of collective memory
transformed into new forms of contemporary art,
as a basis for creating dynamic processes and images of individual user/visitor
related art works.

Agricola de Cologne,
a virtual and physical instance in form of an artist, curator, producer, director
combines all possible functions in one person and in this one project.
In this way, he gave the initial push for all following networking and art related processes
which will go on as long as the project will develop actively.

As a New Media art project,
[R][R][F]2004 --->XP is entirely based in Internet.
The online visitors and the vistors in physical space participate in the same art environment,
only the form of space and how space is experienced are different.
In this way, this project can be installed at any place on the globe
which offers Internet access.

On occasion of each new physical installation, new aspects and components are included
and existing components changed or adjusted to the current situation.

On occasion of Biennale of Electronic Art in Perth/Australia www.beap.org <http://www.beap.org>

[R][R][F]2004 --->XP is a networking environment.
Particular thanks to the organisation of Biennale or Electronic Art Perth/Australia,
which made the "artist residency" of Agricola de Cologne in Perth possible.
Further,
thanks to all networking instances, as artists, curators, institution and organisations
which make the development of this project only possible,
but they are too many to be listed individually.
