INVITATION TO NAVIGATE LAUNCH RECEPTION

Thursday 30 June 2005

18:00 - 20:00 BALTIC CafŽ Bar, Quayside, Gateshead

20:00 - 02:00 Aboard ms Stubnitz, Quayside, Newcastle



We are delighted to invite you and a guest to celebrate the launch of 
navigate, a festival of exhilarating and inspirational live art 
taking place over four days from Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3 July 05 
across three venues: BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the German 
ship ms Stubnitz, moored on Newcastle Quayside, and on specially 
commissioned audio coach tours.



The launch reception will take place in BALTIC and aboard ms Stubnitz 
on Thursday 30 June. Drinks will be served in the BALTIC CafŽ Bar 
from 18:00 to 20:00. The reception continues on the other side of the 
River Tyne aboard ms Stubnitz from 20:00 until 02:00.



During the launch reception guests are invited to attend AndrŽ 
Stitt's durational performance (from 16:00-19:00) and installation 
(from 19:00-20:00) in Level 2 of BALTIC. There are also half-hourly 
screenings of the Desperate Optimists newly commissioned film 
Twilight in the BALTIC Cinema between 18:00-19:00. You will be asked 
to show your Stubnitz boarding pass to enter these events (please see 
below).



The reception on Stubnitz includes performances by Sneha Solanki and 
Duncan Speakman in the Stubnitz bar, and by Melati Suryodarmo on the 
ship's deck.



Admittance to Lone Twin's performance and e-Xplo's coach tour, which 
also take place on Thursday evening, is by pre-booked, paid for 
ticket only. Tickets for these events can be purchased by contacting 
Live Theatre Box Office on 0191 232 1232.



Please note that in order to board ms Stubnitz, licensing laws 
require that guests must have a boarding pass. If you would like to 
attend this launch reception, please RSVP as soon as possible by

We will then send out boarding passes on a first-come-first-serve 
basis due to capacity limitations of Stubnitz. Please RSVP by Monday
