In den letzten 8 Tagen des PROJECT SPACE FESTIVAL BERLIN 2018 wird die Wahrnehmung der Besucher in einzelne Sinne zerlegt, akustisch auf die Probe gestellt oder durch den Stadtraum geführt – bis schließlich die Festivalzeit in einer großen Party endet.

Bei SPEKTRUM (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/spektrum-2018-de/) wird Kunst mit Wissenschaft und Technologie gekreuzt. Mit „Scent Hunting: Wild Flowers“ – einer Jagd-, Sammel- und Destillations-Performance – und „Sentire“ – einer partizipativen Performance zur Erforschung des Tastsinns und des Nähegefühls – präsentieren zwei der SPEKTRUM art science communities ihre neueste Forschung.

CAVE3000 (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/cave3000-2018-de/) zeigt „Jolie Objects“ von Ella CB, die in der Rolle eines obsessiven Fans Bewunderung, Verehrung, Heiligung, Identifikation und Einverleibung bis hin zu Kuscheln, physischem Missbrauch und schmerzhafter (Selbst-)Zerstörung durchspielt. Die raumgreifenden Akte der Performance binden Bilder und Videosequenzen ein.

Das Kinderspiel „Chinese Whispers“ (dt. „Stille Post“) im nationalmuseum (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/nationalmuseum-2018-de/) dient als Folie für eine spielerische Verbindungen zwischen Künstler*innen, die mit Übertragungsfehlern mal Komisches, mal Unstimmiges erzeugen und wie beiläufig Mechanismen von (Miss)Kommunikation und Sprachpolitik offen legen. Hier werden die möglichen Folgen – Amusement, Verlegenheit, Irritation – nicht verdrängt, sondern ostentativ gezeigt.

In (s)einen inneren Raum führt der Künstler im Grimmuseum (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/grimmuseum-2018-de/) . Für „Do you remember yesterday?” verwandelt sich der Ausstellungsraum in eine Grotte: hier beginnt die Suche nach dem Ursprungsmoment, in dem Malerei, Tanz, Musik, Erzählungen, Essen und Feste eine Einheit bildeten.

Spor Klübü (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/spor-klubu-2018-de/) zeigt Ira Schneider, den selbsternannten „Großvater der Videokunst“ aus New York. Seit der ersten Videokunst-Präsentation „TV as a Creative Medium“ 1969 in der Howard Wise Gallery in NY City ist eine ungeheure Menge an Arbeiten und Videomaterial entstanden – Spor Klübü präsentiert einen Ausschnitt in einem 2½-stündigen Screening.

tête (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/tete-2018-de/) befindet sich in einem der letzten unrenovierten Ladengeschäfte im Prenzlauer Berg. Hier werden in der Ausstellung “Splitternackt”, wie in einem Kabinett der Kuriositäten, die Mittel gezeigt, die das Werk ermöglichen, aber nie zu sehen sind: Archivalien, die hors-cadre  (frz. außerhalb des Rahmens) bleiben.

meantime projects (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/meantime-projects-2018-de/) lädt seit zehn Jahren Künstler*innen ein, Lücken im Stadtraum zu füllen und durch temporäre Bespielung einen Projektraum zu erzeugen. Mit der „ART TRAFFFIC”-Bustour werden neue Geschichten und ein neuer Sound über die bereits bekannten gelegt.

Am letzten Tag im August endet die Reise durch die freie Kunstszene Berlins. Alle Akteur*innen und Besucher*innen des PROJECT SPACE FESTIVALs sind herzlich zur Abschlussparty (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/abschluss-party-psf-2018-de/) in den c/o KUNSTPUNKT BERLIN eingeladen.

During the last eight days of PROJECT SPACE FESTIVAL BERLIN 2018, visitors' perceptions will be broken down into individual senses, put to the test acoustically, and guided through urban space – until the festival period culminates in a big celebration.

At SPEKTRUM (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/spektrum-2018-en/) , art intersects with science and technology. With "Scent Hunting: Wild Flowers" – a hunting, gathering, and distillation performance – and "Sentire" - a participative performance exploring the sense of touch and feeling of closeness – two of SPEKTRUM’s art-science communities present their latest research.

CAVE3000 (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/cave3000-2018-en/) presents "Jolie Objects" by Ella CB, who takes on the role of an obsessive fan, from admiration, worship, sanctification, identification and assimilation, to cuddling, physical abuse and painful (self)destruction. The expansive acts of performance integrate images and video sequences.

The children's game "Chinese Whispers" at the nationalmuseum (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/nationalmuseum-2018-de/) serves as a foil for the playful connection between artists who create sometimes comic, sometimes inconsistent messages. Complete with transmission errors, the piece casually reveals the mechanisms of (mis)communication and language politics. Here, the possible consequences - amusement, embarrassment, irritation – are not suppressed, but shown ostentatiously.

Leading visitors into an inner room in the Grimmuseum (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/grimmuseum-2018-en/) , the artist transforms an exhibition space into a grotto for "Do you remember yesterday?" Here begins the search for a moment of origin in which painting, dance, music, narratives, food and celebration formed unified whole.

Spor Klübü (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/spor-klubu-2018-en/) exhibits Ira Schneider, the self-proclaimed "grandfather of video art" from New York. Since his first video art presentation "TV as a Creative Medium" in 1969 at the Howard Wise Gallery in New York, a vast number of works and video material have been created – Spor Klübü presents an excerpt in a two-and-a-half hour screening.

tête (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/tete-2018-en/) is located in one of the last unrenovated shops in Prenzlauer Berg. In the exhibition "Splitternackt", as in a cabinet of curiosities, the invisible means that make artwork possible are shown: archival documents that remain hors-cadre (French for “outside the frame”).

For ten years, meantime projects (http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/meantime-projects-2018-en/) has been inviting artists to fill gaps in urban space and creating a project space through temporary play. With the "ART TRAFFFIC" bus tour, new stories and a new sounds are layered over those already known.

On the last day in August, the journey through Berlin's independent art scene comes to a close.
