Much of this art is already damaged or<br>worse still, has even disappeared! Sign this petition if you are<br>FOR Save Art Underground Metro Stations. Thank you!<br><br>PETITION<br><br>We<br><br>the workgroup Save Art Underground Metro Stations and supporters,<br><br>find<br><br>The original art in Amsterdam metro stations Centraal Station,<br>Nieuwmarkt, Waterlooplein, Weesperplein, Wibautstraat and Amstel is<br>often vandalized or worse still, has disappeared. We observe doors<br>in artwokrs and namens of stations upon them. We see art eroded by<br>graffiti and walls covered with bathroom tiles. Works of art are<br>simply painted over with no apology. Conservation and restoration of<br>the art is apparently not a basic assumption underlying renovation.<br>This will make the history of each station indiscernible! The<br>underground stations are closely connected to the neighborhoods on<br>the surface and their history, and are therefore very dear to us.<br>Help us in the battle to preserve this metro art!<br><br>and state that<br><br>The workgroup Save Art Underground Metro Stations has as its<br>objective the restoration of the present works of art to their<br>original state, in every station.
