Dear Friends and Colleagues,<br><br>This is to let you know that <b><i>Archival Dialogues: Reading the Black Star Collection,</i></b> the inaugural exhibition at the new Ryerson Image Centre, with works by <b>Stephen Andrews, Christina Battle, Marie-Hélène Cousineau, Stan Douglas, Vera Frenkel, Vid Ingelevics, David Rokeby</b> and <b>Michael Snow</b>, is now installed and open to the public until December 16th, 2012. <br>
<br>Each of the media works on view is based on the artist's exploration of the <b><i>Black Star Collection</i></b> of circa 300,000 documentary photographs given to Ryerson University by an anonymous donor. A major source of images for <i>Life, Time, Picture Post</i>, <i>Look</i><b><i>, </i></b>and other magazines of the era, the Black Star Collection has now fuelled eight 'readings' by contemporary artists.<br>
