<font style="font-size: 22px;"><b>START NIEUWE STICHTING LIMA </b></font><br>

Met ingang van januari 2013 is LIMA hét nieuwe platform voor mediakunst, gevestigd in Amsterdam. Experts die voorheen in dienst waren bij het NIMk richten deze nieuwe stichting op om kennis, collectie, conservering en distributie -die het NIMk tot haar sluiting aanbood- niet verloren te laten gaan. Gaby Wijers, voormalig Hoofd conservering en collectie van het NIMk, is de directeur van dit nieuwe initiatief dat als werktitel Voorheen Montevideo had. LIMA wil zich in de komende jaren ontwikkelen tot hét (inter)nationaal platform voor de duurzame toegang tot mediakunst, en zal een uitgebreid palet aan diensten op dit gebied gaan aanbieden. De combinatie van actieve distributie, conservering en onderzoek is daarbij cruciaal. <br>

LIMA zet zich in om bestaande en toekomstige mediakunstwerken te (doen) vertonen, onder nieuwe omstandigheden en met nieuwe voorwaarden. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat LIMA hét kenniscentrum op het gebied van mediakunst zal worden en blijven. <br>

De sluiting van het Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst (NIMk) is per eind 2012 een feit. Alle activiteiten van het NIMk zullen worden stopgezet en de stichting opgeheven. LIMA werkt met het NIMk aan afspraken over de overdracht van collecties en bijbehorende apparatuur. Dit betekent dat LIMA, in combinatie met de aanwezige expertise, een goede start kan maken en van meet af aan werkt op professioneel niveau. Voor het NIMk betekent dit dat ondanks haar sluiting, in de toekomst toch zorg en aandacht aan erfgoed op het gebied van kunst en technologie besteed zal blijven worden.<br>

LIMA heeft vertrouwen in een duurzame toekomst voor technologisch cultureel erfgoed door ons aanbod van diensten, en we hopen dat we hierbij mogen rekenen op uw steun. Wij streven naar groei en continuering van onze diensten, en LIMA kijkt er naar uit de samenwerking met u aan te gaan.<br>

Vanaf 7 januari 2013 biedt LIMA diensten voor beheer en behoud en distributie van mediakunst aan. LIMA is gevestigd op de Arie Biemondstraat 111 te Amsterdam.<br>

<font style="font-size: 22px;"><b>NEW FOUNDATION LIMA STARTS </b></font><br>

Beginning in January, 2013, LIMA, located in Amsterdam, is the new platform for media art. Experts who previously worked at the NIMk have established this new foundation to assure that the knowledge, collection, conservation and distribution -which NIMk offered prior to its closing- will not be lost. Gaby Wijers, formerly head of conservation and collection at the NIMk, is the director of this new initiative, workingtitle was Formerly known as Montevideo.<br>
<br>
In the coming years LIMA hopes to develop into the Dutch and international access point for media art for the long term, and plans to offer a comprehensive range of services in this field. The combination of active distribution, conservation and research is crucial for this vision. LIMA is committed to the showing of existing and future media art works, under new circumstances and with new conditions. We are convinced that LIMA will become, and remain, the knowledge centre in the field of media art.<br>
<br>
The closing of the Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) is a fact as of the end of 2012. All the activities of the NIMk will cease and the foundation will be disbanded. <br>
LIMA is working on agreement with the NIMk regarding the transfer of collections and accompanying apparatus. This means that LIMA, in combination with its expertise, can get off to a running start and work at a professional level from day one. For the NIMk this means that despite its closure, its concern and interest in heritage in the field of art and technology will be continued in the future.<br>

LIMA is confident of providing a sustainable future for technological cultural heritage through the services we offer, and we hope that we can count on your support in this effort. We strive for continuity and growth in our services, and LIMA looks forward to cooperating with you. <br>

From 7 January, 2013, LIMA offers services for the management, preservation and distribution of media art. LIMA is located at Arie Biemondstraat 111 in Amsterdam.<br>
