</b><b>MADATAC INTERNATIONAL ESSAY PRIZE CALL</b><br>

TOPIC: NEW MEDIA ART, ELECTRONIC AUDIOVISUAL ART, MULTIMEDIA ART,
VIDEO ART, CYBERART, BIOART, DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES and any creative
symbiosis between art, science and technology.<br>
<br>
MADATAC, in its aspiration to spread the bibliography concerning the
practice, study and research of new media narratives and tools of
the new audiovisual digital art in all its forms, not forgetting the
contributions of the past, calls for a prize of essay eligible for
all authors, regardless of their nationality, provided that the
manuscript is written in Spanish or English language and fits the
theme of the prize, be original, unpublished and has not previously
been awarded in any other competition, or corresponds to a deceased
author before submitting the work for the award. Collections of
articles will not be accepted.<br>

1. In this first call works will be presented on digital format (PDF
or Word) and must contain one or several literary essays grouped in
an organic way to configure a single book, with an optional
contribution of 8 to 16 images in colour and no limit for images in
black and white. The works will have a minimum length of 120 pages,
size DIN A4, printed single-sided with the title of the essay, the
name and surname of the participant, the postal address, email, a
contact telephone number and also the Curriculum Vitae of the
author. The shipping shall also contain a signed statement that the
work is not competing in any other prize and is free all rights of
exploitation. Correspondence will not maintained with the
participants nor any information relating to the follow-up of the
works presented shall be provided.<br>

2. Originals can be sent to <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:info@madatac.es">info@madatac.es</a> or by postal mail, with
the documentation on a cd, dvd or pend drive, to MADATAC: Galeno 41,
C.P. 28232, Las Rozas de Madrid, Spain, clearly indicating in the
envelope MADATAC INTERNATIONAL ESSAY PRIZE. The organisers are not
responsible for any losses or deterioration of the originals, or of
any other circumstance attributable to emails or third parties which
may affect the sending of works.<br>

3. The receipt of original opens with the publication of this call
and closes on September 2, 2013. <br>
<br>
4. The prize may not be declared void. There will be a single
winner, no finalists.<br>
<br>
5. The jury will be composed by prominent members of the cultural
world. Its decision will be final and will be made public in a
ceremony that will be held in December 2013 during the celebration
of the MADATAC 05 Festival.<br>
<br>
6. The unique Prize will consist on the publication of the awarded
work by the books publisher Editorial Casimiro
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.casimirolibros.es">http://www.casimirolibros.es</a>) which will be distributed and sold in
Spain and Latin America. Distribution in Europe will depend on
arising co-edition partnerships.<br>

7. The author of the winning work will sign a publishing contract by
means of which 8% will be liquidated (to him or her) after one year
in the paperback editions, calculated on the recommended retail
price without VAT of every country. Editorial Casimiro and MADATAC
reserve the right to hire any of the works submitted for the award.<br>
<br>
8. The participants authorize the organizers to use their names and
image for advertising purposes as participants in the award. The
winner is also committed to participate personally in promotional
events of the book that are considered suitable by the organizers of
the prize. <br>

9. Participation in the award implies automatically acceptance of
these conditions by the authors, as well as its commitment not to
remove his work once sent. For any differences that had to be
settled through the courts, parties, renouncing their own
jurisdiction, expressly submit to the courts and courts of Spain. <br>

10. Any situation not contemplated in this call will be resolved by
the jury and the permanent Chairman of the award.<br>

</b><b>CONVOCATORIA PREMIO INTERNACIONAL DE ENSAYO MADATAC</b><br>
<br>
TEMA: ARTE AUDIOVISUAL ELECTRÓNICO DE LOS NUEVOS MEDIOS Y LAS NUEVAS
TECNOLOGÍAS DIGITALES, VIDEOARTE, ARTE MULTIMEDIA, ARTE
CIBERNETICO, BIO ARTE,asi como toda simbiosis creativa entre arte,
ciencia y tecnología.<br>

MADATAC, en su afán por difundir y expandir la bibliografía en torno
a la práctica, el estudio y la investigación de las nuevas
narrativas y herramientas del arte audiovisual en todas sus
modalidades, sin olvidarnos de las aportaciones del pasado, convoca
un premio de ensayo al que podrán optar todos los autores que lo
deseen, sea cual sea su nacionalidad, siempre que el manuscrito esté
escrito en lengua española o inglesa, se ajuste a la temática del
premio, sea original, inédito y no haya sido premiado anteriormente
en ningún otro concurso ni corresponda a un autor fallecido antes de
presentar la obra al premio. No se aceptarán recopilaciones de
artículos.<br>
<br>
1. En esta primera convocatoria las obras se presentarán en
formato digital (PDF o Word) y deberán contener uno o varios ensayos
literarios que agrupados de una forma orgánica configuren un libro
unitario, con una aportación opcional de 8 a 16 imágenes en color y
sin límite para las imágenes en blanco y negro. Las obras tendrán
una extensión mínima de 120 páginas, tamaño DIN A4, impresas a una
sola cara con el título del ensayo, el nombre y apellidos del
participante, la dirección postal, correo electrónico, un teléfono
de contacto y además el Currículum Vitae del autor. En dicho envío
se incluirá también una declaración firmada de que la obra no se
encuentra concursando en ningún otro premio y que tiene libres todos
los derechos de explotación. No se mantendrá correspondencia con los
remitentes ni se facilitará información alguna relativa al
seguimiento de las obras presentadas. <br>

2. Los originales podrán enviarse a <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:info@madatac.es">info@madatac.es</a> o por correo
postal, con la documentación en un cd, dvd o pen drive, a MADATAC
con domicilio en Galeno 41, C.P. 28232, Las Rozas de Madrid, España,
indicando claramente en el sobre Premio de Ensayo MADATAC. Las
entidades organizadoras no se hacen responsables de las posibles
pérdidas o deterioro de los originales, ni de cualquier otra
circunstancia imputable a correos o a terceros que pueda afectar al
envío de las obras.<br>

3. La recepción de originales se abre con la publicación de esta
convocatoria y se cerrará el 2 de septiembre de 2013.<br>
<br>
4. El premio no podrá ser declarado desierto. Habrá un único
ganador, sin finalistas.<br>
<br>
5. El jurado estará compuesto por destacados miembros del mundo
cultural. Su fallo será inapelable y se hará público en un acto que
se celebrará en diciembre 2013 durante la celebración de la Muestra
MADATAC 05.<br>
<br>
6. Se entregará un único premio, que consistirá en la publicación
de la obra galardonada por la editorial Casimiro Libros
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.casimirolibros.es">http://www.casimirolibros.es</a>) la cual se distribuirá y
comercializará en España y América Latina. La distribución en Europa
dependerá de los convenios de co-edición que se lleguen a
establecer.<br>

7. El autor de la obra ganadora suscribirá un contrato de edición
mediante el cual se le liquidará al cabo de un año el 8% en las
ediciones en tapa rústica, calculados sobre el precio de venta al
público sin I.V.A. de cada país. La editorial Casimiro y MADATAC se
reservan el derecho de contratar cualquiera de las obras presentadas
al premio.<br>

8. Los concursantes autorizan a los convocantes a utilizar con
fines publicitarios sus nombres y su imagen como participantes en el
premio. El ganador se compromete además, a participar personalmente
en los actos promocionales del libro que se consideren adecuados por
los organizadores del premio.<br>
<br>
9. La participación en este premio implica de forma automática la
aceptación de las presentes bases por parte de los autores, así como
su compromiso de no retirar su obra una vez enviada. Para cualquier
diferencia que tuviera que dirimirse por vía judicial, las partes,
renunciando a su propio fuero, se someten expresamente a los
Juzgados y Tribunales de España.<br>

10. Cualquier situación no prevista en la presente convocatoria será
resuelta por el jurado y el presidente permanente del premio.<br>
