Ausstellung in der MARS - Lounge am 14. November

»Amodal Suspension« Interaktive Installation

»Amodal Suspension - relational architecture 8, 2003« ist ein Projekt 
von Rafael Lozano-Hemmer mit dem Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media, 
Japan. »Amodal Suspension« bildet einen globalen und gemeinsamen 
Kommunikationsprozess ab, der sich im Himmel über Yamaguchi als 
interaktive Lichtinstallation manifestiert.

Teilnehmer aus der ganzen Welt können über „acess pods“ an 25 
eingeladenen Partnerinstituten simultan mittels email oder sms ein 
interaktives Datennetz beeinflussen. Die eingehenden Nachrichten werden 
in eine gigantische Lichtprojektion transformiert. Eine Nachricht der 
Astronauten aus der Internationalen Raumstation ISS hat das Projekt, 
das vom 01.11. - 24.11.2003 läuft, am 01.11.2003 um 10:00 Uhr deutscher 
Zeit eröffnet.

Am 14. November lädt das Fraunhofer Institut für Medienkommunikation in 
die MARS - Lounge, um in der Zeit von 11 - 17 Uhr live dabei zu sein 
und selbst aktiv die Installation mitzugestalten.

Gleichzeitig präsentiert das Fraunhofer MARS - Exploratory Media Lab 
die Info-Jukebox, ein interaktives Kiosk-System, das erstmals das 
berührungslose, gestenbasierte PointScreen Interface einsetzt.

»Amodal Suspension« interactive installation

»Amodal Suspension - relational architecture 8, 2003« is a project by
Rafael Lozano-Hemmer in conjunction with the Yamaguchi Center for Arts
and Media, Japan. »Amodal Suspension« depicts a global and communal
communication process which can be seen in the sky above Yamaguchi as an
interactive light installation.

Participants from all over the world can influence an interactive data
network via “access pods” at 25 invited partner institutes
simultaneously via e-mail or text message. The incoming messages are
transformed into a gigantic light projection. The project, which will
run from 1 to 24 November, 2003, is launched at 10 a.m. on 1 November,
2003 Central European Time with a message from the astronauts aboard the
ISS international space station.

On 14 November, the Fraunhofer Institute for Media Communication is
inviting interested parties to the MARS Lounge to experience the event
live from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and play an active role in the installation.

The Fraunhofer MARS - Exploratory Media Lab will be simultaneously
presenting the Info Jukebox, an interactive kiosk system which, for the
first time, will use the non-contact, gesture-based PointScreen
Interface.
