The 2016 Werkleitz Festival Trans-Positionen [Trans-Positions] is taking place in conjunction with the international radio art festival Radio Revolten organized by Radio Corax.
As part of this collaboration the Werkleitz Festival will feature an interdisciplinary exploration of radio as a medium of acoustic art in its exhibition, performance and multi-part film programme.
Trans-Positionen examines the relationship between sound and the electronic image, the political importance of radio and the medium’s current relevance.

Radio Revolten and Trans-Positionen will celebrate their opening together at on 1 October at 7 pm in the Ulrichskirche concert hall in Halle (Saale).
The Swedish organist Hampus Lindwall will launch the event with a short organ concert, followed by welcome speeches from the artistic director of Radio Revolten,
Knut Aufermann, and Werkleitz director Daniel Herrmann, who will welcome the artists, curators and guests of both festivals. The highlight of the event is a performance
by the Resonance Radio Orchestra from London.

The Werkleitz Festival will include an exhibition of Friedrich Jürgenson’s Audioscopic Research Archive (on loan from the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe)
in the foyer of the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the audio-visual performance Attempt No. 6 by Swedish artists Hampus Lindwall, Joakim Forsgren and Leif Elggren
in the Moritzkirche, which was especially commissioned by curator Martin Hartung for the festival. In addition, a multi-part film programme curated by Florian Wüst will be presented at Kino Zazie.
