NO-TV & Movies #21
Visual Studies Workshop
Requesting work from artists and producers currently working in analog and
digital electronic media* to submit films and videos of their work up to 28
minutes in length. Multimedia presentations are excluded. The maker should
have sole control over the production in every phase, including content,
capital investment, distribution and ownership. All formats of film and video
are eligible but a high quality VHS videotape copy must be submitted for
preview and cablecast. A fee of $8.00 per minute will be paid to those film
and video makers whose work as been accepted.
Deadline for submission of work is 3/25/02. Send VHS videotape, statement
about work, current resume/cv/filmography and SASE (if you wish your work to

Performative works and lectures
Mountain Standard Time Festival
Call for Submissions:
Local, national and international artists are invited to submit proposals for
performative works and lectures to be presented in various public locations
in Calgary. The organizers encourage innovative use of the gallery venues as
well as site-specific works, intervetions and lecture / panel ideas.
Performative encompasses the hybridization of performance, spoken word, film,
video and sound.
DEADLINE: All proposals must arrive at The New Gallery by March 5, 2002
before 5 pm.

NOTICE OF FACULTY VACANCY FOR DIGITAL MEDIA
The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia invites
applicants for a full-time tenure-track position on the Digital Media
faculty, beginning at the rank of Assistant Professor with a starting salary
of $46,000. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the undergraduate
digital media program, active participation on graduate committees, and
other duties as required by the School of Art. Candidates are required to
have an MFA in studio art, with experience in the Macromedia software
(Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Director, Final Cut Pro). Teaching
experience beyond the TA level, or equivalent professional experience, is
preferred.
The successful candidate must be committed to their creative work and
demonstrate outstanding potential for achievement in his/her professional
discipline commensurate with the research mission and tenure guidelines at
the University of Georgia. They should be working with digital, time-based
media that displays sensitivity to contemporary visual art issues and
computer technology. They will also share leadership and administrative
duties in this growing program.
The University of Georgia, a research institution of the state university
system with over 30,000 students, is located in Athens, Georgia, a town of
90,000, one hour from Atlanta. In addition to being a stimulating academic
environment, Athens has a distinctive local music culture and active arts
community, including the Georgia Museum of Art. The Lamar Dodd School of Art
has 60 faculty in Studio Art, Design, Art Education and Art History
administering undergraduate and graduate programs to over 1,000 majors. In
addition to its home campus, the School of Art maintains a year-round
studies abroad program in Cortona, Italy.
This position will be available August 2002. The application deadline is
March 8, 2002 for full consideration. Applicants should submit a letter of
