International interactive media culture competition

WELCOME TO THE ZAPPING EVENT OF THE PRIX MOBIUS NORDICA 2003

On Saturday, January 25th, 2003 from 12am to 8 pm at Media Centre Lume of
the University of Art and Design Helsinki ten finalists will present their
works to the audience and the jury at the Zapping event of the Prix Möbius
Nordica 2003.

The Nordic jury of this international interactive media culture competition
will pronounce the winners of the Prizes the same evening at 6.30 pm.
In the Lume Gallery an exhibition of the finalist works open from now on
until the end of the event gives an opportunity to experience individually
the interaction of the works.

Nordic media culture - actors online

At 4.45 pm as part of the Prix Möbius Nordica programme, m-cult together
with its Nordic partners will present results from a recent research
project on Nordic actors in media culture and launch the English version of
the m-cult.net service, containing a database of Nordic media culture
organisations.

The selection of the Prix Möbius Nordica aims at promoting creativity and
innovation especially in the field of interactivity, combined with high
standard quality in aesthetic and technical realisation, as well as
scientific validity and educational interest. The relation of the chosen
expressional means to the content and the target group was a meaningful
criterion for the selection, as well as the status of the work in the
context of already published productions in the same area.

The winners of the Prix Möbius Nordica will participate in the
international competition PRIX MÖBIUS INTERNATIONAL in Athens in September
2003.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

- Le Prix Möbius Sciences (Science and Communication)
- Le Prix Möbius Education (Educational and Children's programs)
- Le Prix Möbius Culture (Culture and Art)
- Le Prix Möbius Création et fiction (Creation and Fiction)

In addition, the jury may give the following awards: Le Grand Prix (main
award) and Le Prix Spécial du Jury (special prize of the jury)
