film / video programs 4.5.6. September

As part of the exhibition 'Turbulent Screen - The structural Movement in
Film and Video', the Edith Russ Site for Media art presents a film and video
program with classics of structural film and videos as well as current
positions by younger artists. It begins on 4 and 5 September, at 5:30 pm in
Casablanca Kino with the programs 'Europe in Shorts 8' and 'Film de Force'.
Both are in cooperation with the Oldenburg Filmfestival. September 6 is
Museum Night" with Expanded Cinema at the Edith Russ Site for Media Art.

'Europe in Shorts 8' was organized by the European Coordination of
Filmfestivals and comprises outstanding experimental short films from seven
European
countries. The program 'Film de Force' is a visual gallop through the
highlights of structural film, in stunningly simple cinematic techniques,
which can
lead to change in perception or even consciousness disorders. With neither
chairs nor narratives, the films for the 'Museum Night' demand the visitor's
participation for a special cinema experience. If the weather is stable, the
dual projections will be projected onto the building's fascade instead of in
the
exhibition hall.
