of the hardware and the infinity of online connections, but some 
nostalgics like brian mackern knows how to take advantage of them. 
brian mackern is one of the best digital archeologists in the world 
so that his personal computer has become one of the richest resources 
of information on the history of net.art. he will present his work 
*chamanic interferences*, a retrospective of many of his audio-visual 
objects and soundtoys.

joan leandre, based in barcelona, has started a project 
*retroyou.org* since 1999.  retroyou.org is a project which explores 
the *behind the scene* of software technology and programming 
language.  *retroyou_rc* and *retroyou_nostalg* are modified computer 
games, the one of car racing and the other of flight simulation. 
both deconstruct and modify game rules and thus leaves its players at 
loss or in total immersion.  joan leandre's works are an example of a 
whole scene of game modifications, which are among the most radical 
and elaborate of this genre.  his works have been shown in 
onedotzero, transmediale, and ars electronica among others.

the net.art will be represented by *anima*, a work by arcángel 
constantini,  a reflexion on the existence of objects and ourselves, 
who give a value to these objects. in this case, a walk along the 
flee market revives different objects, bringing them back to life by 
granting them a new digital existence.

outside the frame of the exhibition and for the opening of unzipping 
codes, net jamm performance is led by the members of the group 
*offline*, brian mackern, arcángel consantini, and fernando llanos. 
they will mix live inputs from the internet provided by themselves or 
some of their colleagues from the group *offline*, which resembles a 
mixture of dj and vj procedures while revealing the unstable nature 
of digital reality.

this collection of videos is a sample of the flexibility and the 
possibilities offered by a tool that has also reached the digital 
status and has become a consumer good. most of the videos shown here
