Mount Merapi recent eruption have released volcanic ashes that mostly covering 
the northern part of Yogyakarta. Since the first eruption occurred on 26th 
October, thousands of the citizens that inhabits northern part of Yogyakarta 
have been evacuated from their houses to avoid the danger from Merapi activities 
in its' current state. The citizens are now living in a communal temporary camps 
waiting for positive signal that Merapi's activities is to calm. However the 
arrival of this positive signal is unpredictable whether it will arrive in the 
near future leaving the citizen to wait and see. The danger of hot ash clouds 
that could reach more than 500 degrees Celcius in the 10 km square zone of 
Merapi have forced the citizen to live their houses covered with thick volcanic 
ashes. At the present time, the tiny particles of volcanic ashes have reached 
the centre of the city, making a threat to cause respiratory problems for the 
local citizen. 


With the awareness of the situation, HONF are opening a donation wallet for 
national and international people who would like to help the refugees and 
victims in Yogyakarta. The donation will be channeled to trusted local 
communities, volunteers, organizations, and education institutions that involved 
on the relief field work.
