*V2_ presents Palm Top Theater, a Mobile 3D Exhibition, as part of the 
International Film Festival Rotterdam 2011.*


The i3DG is a playful analog extension to an iPhone or an iPodTouch. It 
converts the 2D display of iPhones into a layered 3D view using the old 
technique of placing a half-silvered mirror at a 45-degree angle in 
front of the image. As a peripheral gadget, the i3DG can support a wide 
range of different applications, from 3D videos and animations to 
accelerometer-based games.

V2_Institute for the Unstable Media <http://www.v2.nl> in Rotterdam, the 
Netherlands, organizes a workshop

develop fresh content for this device. The results will be shown in the 
exhibition Palm Top Theater <http://www.v2.nl/events/palm-top-theater>, 
held from January 22 to February 13 as part of the International Film 
Festival Rotterdam <http://www.filmfestivalrotterdam.com/nl/iffr-2011/>2011.

i3DG is invented by media artist Jitsuro Mase, and produced by 
DIRECTIONS <http://www.directions.jp/english/>, Inc, a Japanese media 
production company. It has received a Honorary Mention at the 2010 Prix 
Ars Electronica <http://new.aec.at/prix/en/about/>.
