Dear friends,

I am sharing with you the news from Arts at CERN with some very exciting opportunities for Swiss artists and creators to spend some time with them,

CERN - the world's largest particle physics laboratory in Geneva and birthplace of the World Wide Web, is inviting for a Swiss artist, or an artist living or born in Switzerland to apply for a place for a fully funded 3-month residency and a grant at the laboratory.

There is a fixed bursary, which includes a 15000CHF stipend, funded by Pro Helvetia and is part of our Collide at CERN Residency.

The deadline is February 27th and here is the link to the page with the details for applying.

Here is a wonderful article which includes some details of the Collide at CERN Artist residency

And another one about the first Swiss artist who came on the residency in 2012, and has created a dance piece that has been touring the world since 2013: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/28/arts/dance/art-science-mix-accelerated.html

I would be so grateful if this could be spread through your practice and your networks to anyone you think would adore this.
We really want a fabulous artist to come to CERN and to have their imagination and technical skills blasted by our theories of time and space, as well as the technology used for research.

A one day visit to us in February 2014 by one of our Visiting Artists, the fashion designer Iris van Herpen, inspired her so much that her based her whole spring/summer collection shown at Paris last year was inspired by CERN magnets and magnetism.

I hope this is of your interest, please spread the word,
