Hi all (sorry for cross-posting),

The Université du Québec à Montréal(UQAM) École des arts visuels et 
médiatiques is advertising a tenure track position in practice-based 
research in the Digital arts / Unstable media / Electronic arts.

The practice of the candidate for the position in ‘Hybrid practices of 
the image and immersive apparatus’ should demonstrate a critical, 
historical and theoretical reflexion on the subject.  Openness to 
experimentation is essential to understand the opportunities and 
responsibilities inherent to this field in development.   The School 
will favour applicants whose practice demonstrates a collaborative 
approach that fosters exploration, anticipation and risk-taking. The 
ideal candidate possesses a solid knowledge of the processes of capture, 
generation, and creation of immersive environments.  The types of 
practices are, for example, but not limited to : expanded cinema, sound 
based practices, 3D environments and their application in different 
contexts.

The ‘École des arts visuels et médiatiques’ is a member of the Hexagram 
international network dedicated to research-creation in media arts, 
design, technology and digital culture, as such, the applicants are 
expected to demonstrate their abilities to conduct and lead research 
endeavours in their field of inquiry.

* The Université du Québec à Montréal is a francophone University and 
the candidates are expected to be able to conduct classes in French at 
the undergraduate and graduate levels.
