nach dem erfolgreichen glui-sensor-workshop, den
sukandar kartadinata ende april angeboten hat,
lädt t e s l a bis zum sommer noch zu drei
weiteren workshops ein: weitere möglichkeiten,
sich im podewils'schen palais nicht nur
theoretisch, sondern auch praktisch mit den
möglichkeiten medialer künste auseinander zu
setzen.
workshop mit jaromil
workshop vom 01.-03.06.
workshop-start: fr 01.06. um 18:00
die dyne.org foundation veranstaltet workshops
über freie software und führt die teilnehmerinnen
und teilnehmer in die künstlerische arbeit mit
100 % freien gnu/linux systemen ein. jeder
teilnehmer erhält eine dyne:bolic cd mit der
notwendigen software, die frei zur benutzung und
weiterverteilung ist (gnu gpl license). damit
wird es überflüssig, weitere kommerzielle
software zu kaufen - die teilnehmer können fortan
ihre eigenen werke produzieren und distribuieren:
unabhängig von den spekulationen der
kommerziellen anbieter.

andrey smirnov: theremin sensors workshop
workshop vom 11.-15.06.
workshop-start: mo 11.06. um 10:00
workshop-präsentation: fr 15.06. um 20:30
eine praktische einführung in interaktive
systeme, die auf sensor-technik basieren und von
andrey smirnov (theremin institut moskau)
entwickelt wurden, um bewegungen von menschen und
materien messen und kontrollieren zu können. die
bauweise der sensoren beruht auf den gleichen
prinzipien, die auch der funktion des theremins
zugrunde liegt. der workshop gibt nicht nur
einblick in theorie und geschichte der
sensorentechnik, sondern lädt auch zur
entwicklung praktischer bausteine für die
steuerung interaktiver audio- und
videoinstallationen. teilnehmer sollten nicht nur
ihre laptops mitbringen, sondern auch kenntnisse
der programmierung mit max/msp, pd,
supercollider, isadora und ähnlicher software.
analoge und digitale usb-sensoren zum probieren
und experimentieren werden gestellt.

time's up: public interface workshop
workshop vom 05.- 07.07.
workshop-start: do 05.07. um 16:00
workshop-präsentation: sa 07.07. um 21:00
für einen ganzen monat (18.juni bis 18.juli) wird
time's up sein labor zur konstruktion
experimenteller situationen aus dem linzer hafen
(a) in das medien>kunst<labor tesla verlegen.
vier wochen lang wird das ineinandergreifen
beider labors vollzogen. das zentrale thema
"interface" soll in bezug auf die rolle und
funktion eines medienkunsthauses als produktions-
wie auch als vermittlungsort untersucht werden.
vor diesem hintergrund wird der public interface
workshop einblicke in die arbeitsweisen und
methoden von time's up geben.

podewils'schen palais provides a location for not
only theoretical, but also practical
confrontation with the media arts.

the dyne.org foundation organizes workshops about

a practical introduction to interactive systems
based on sensor technology, which were developed
by andrey smirnov to measure and control the
movements of people and materials. the method of
building the sensors relies on the same
principles which are the basis for the
functioning of the theremin. the workshop not
only offers insight into the theory and history
of sensor technology, but also facilitates the
development of practical components for the
control of interactive audio and video
installations. participants should bring not only
their laptops, but also knowledge of programming
with max/msp, pd, supercollider, isadora and
similar software. analog and digital usb sensors
will be available for trial and experimentation.

workshop start: thurs 05.07. at 4:00 pm
workshop presentation: sat 07.07. at 9:00 pm
for an entire month (june 18th through july
18th), time's up will move its laboratory for the
construction of experimental situations from the
port of linz (a) to the tesla
media>art<laboratory. four weeks long, the two
labs will engage with one another. the central
theme '"interface" will be explored as it relates
to the role and function of a media art facility
as a location for both production and
presentation. in this context, the public
interface workshop will offer insights into the
working methods of time's up.
