Performance: „betwixt and between“

 

Performance in zwei Teilen

 

Der Saal ist dunkel. Über die Bühne ins Publikum betreten
die Performer den Saal. Mit einem Mobiltelefon als Videokamera, beginnen sie im
Dunkeln zu filmen. Das Licht geht an, das Publikum wird ausgeleuchtet, die
Bühne bleibt dunkel.

 

Nach drei Minuten erlischt das Licht, die Performer beenden
das Filmen des Publikums und verlassen den Saal. Ende des ersten Teils.

 

Nach etwa einer Stunde wird ein Internetbrowser auf ein
Trägermedium projeziert. Vor den Augen des Publikums wird „youtube.com“
aufgerufen, „betwixt and between 001“ eingetippt und das Publikum bekommt zu
sehen:

Describtion of the performance:
 
Nicola Feiks and Mario Strk performing "betwixt and between" in Brut
Konzerthaus, Vienna:
 
The playhouse is dark. Two performers enter the space, each of them equipped
with a mobile phone capable of recording video. Slowly the light is turned on
illuminating the audience while the stage remains dark, thus hiding the
camerawoman and -man. After three minutes, the room is darkened and both
performers leave the stage. End of the first part.
 
Several minutes later, youtube.com is displayed on a videowall. A search for
"betwixt and between 001" is run, the result projected. In it, the audience is
confronted with the movie recorded in part one. Even so, to the soundtrack of
the mobilephone - recording a voiceover has been added, directing all visible
actions milliseconds in advance, formulated as imperative, thus turning the
spectators into involuntary actors. End of second part.
