Call for artists
Postcards from Berlin

MobileDance is seeking choreographers, filmmakers, composers and
dance assistants to work with young people in Berlin to create short
dance films to be shown on the Berliner Fenster.

What is Postcards from Berlin?
Artistic teams (consisting of choreographer, filmmaker, composer and
dance assistant) will work with pupils from 7 schools from different
areas of Berlin to create 30-second dance films – „dancing postcards“
of their city.

We send postcards when we like the picture on them: what is there in
Berlin that we want to show other people?

In small groups, pupils will choose a location in Berlin. Inspired by
the location and their relationship to it, they will create a dance
film, shooting, editing and composing a soundtrack in collaboration
with their creative team. Selected films will be shown on the
Berliner Fenster – the TV screens in the underground. All films will
be shown on a custom-made website.

The project runs from September 2008 until March 2009.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for 7 creative teams of artists,
* Choreographers
* Filmmakers
* Composers
* Assistant dance artists
who are interested in collaborating with young people to create short
dance films.

All positions are paid.

We are looking for choreographers and assistant dance artists in the
genres contemporary-, street- , break- dance and/or classical or folk
dances (eg. Khatak, Zeybek). We will seek to create teams of
choreographer/assistant with different vocabularies.
